Employment  Assistance Services

Community Unemployed Help Centre

Community Unemployed Help Centre (CUHC) is a non-profit organization primarily dedicated to providing information, advice and representation to unemployed workers in Manitoba experiencing Employment Insurance problems.  If you want to contact this service, please speak to your counsellor first.

Employment Preparation Series

Success Skills Centre conducts monthly Employment Preparation Series in Winnipeg for internationally educated immigrant professionals and skilled workers.  The Employment Preparation Series changes often to meet the needs of each group of clients.

Topics may include:  interview skills, preparing résumés and cover letters, job search techniques, marketing skills, negotiations, employment maintenance, community resources, self-esteem and human rights issues.

Please register in advance in person, or by telephoning the office at 975-5111 for further information.

Occupational Training

Success Skills Centre offers occupational training in accounting and AutoCAD software. This training is for people who have experience in their field and need to learn the computer applications which are used in Canada.  Training is provided free of charge or at a small cost to the client.

Special Programs

Mentorship opportunities are available to qualified clients.  Clients who are mentored are introduced to the professional, industry and trade associations and individuals  related to their career.

This gives our clients the opportunity to make employment contacts and learn about Canadian workplace culture.

Employer Partnerships

Success Skills Centre encourages employers to play a valuable role by accepting qualified clients for internships and work experience.

As well, some of our clients may qualify for wage subsidy programs under Employment Insurance, or under the provincial Credentials Recognition Program.
